Children’s Performing Arts is excited to announce our first joint production with Lakeshore Players Theatre! As part of this exciting collaboration, students will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside professional actors from around the Twin Cities.
What is Spotlight on a Cause?
Spotlight on a Cause is part of Children’s Performing Arts leadership programming. Every year the students put on a production to bring awareness to the chosen cause. This year’s focus is addiction. The first 30 minutes of Tuesday’s rehearsal is dedicated to developing leaders and learning about the cause: what the kids could do about the cause, and how they could make a difference. All three tracks; Main cast, ensemble and production will take part. The goal of this program is to teach our children about the world around them, how they can make a difference and how to become future leaders within our community.
Fame The Musical inspired generations to fight for fame and light up the sky like a flame! The show follows the final class of New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts from their admission in 1980 to their graduation in 1984. All of the struggles, fears and triumphs – from prejudice to substance abuse – are depicted with razor-sharp focus as the young artists navigate the worlds of music, drama and dance.
This event is free to the public.
