Twin Cities Media Figure Pat Miles to Discuss her Book on End-of-Life Matters at Local Church
Former news anchor Pat Miles will discuss her book, “Before All is Said and Done,” which navigates the realities surrounding dying and widowhood on September 24 at 2:00. The public is invited and encouraged to attend at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake.
Revered local journalist Miles drew on personal experience and learnings after the unexpected loss of her spouse. She said, “In our minds, we were set for life, but as it turns out, we were not set for death. I hope the sage advice from experts and the stories from surviving spouses in the book will provide comfort and a plan of action.”
“The book underscores the importance of having critical discussions in advance of a loved one’s dying and death. Pat Miles writes from her personal experience that these conversations are difficult, but it is more difficult later without them. We’re very pleased to offer these valuable insights to the White Bear Lake community,” said Marla Amborn, Church Council President.
Partnering with St. Stephen’s Church for the event are Lake Country Booksellers, who will have the book for sale, and the St. Paul Area Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Following the talk there will be a reception with the author including refreshments.
