Unwrap Holiday Cheer with the White Bear Lake Area Historical Society
The Second Annual Festival of Trees is set to take place December 7-21 at the White Bear Lake Armory. You won’t want to miss this fabulous new holiday tradition featuring more than 40 trees decorated by local businesses and organizations, children’s crafts, photos with Santa, holiday treats and much more. Last year’s event attracted more than 3,000 people and we can’t wait to welcome you!
The fun continues at the Historical Society’s 1879 lakeside cottage, the Fillebrown House, with:
- Storytime with Santa, Tuesday, December 10 6:30-8pm
- Candlelight Tours, Thursday, December 12 6:00 and 7:30pm
- Candlelight Tours, Thursday, December 19 6:00 and 7:30pm
Tickets and more information on all of our events can be found at whitebearhistory.org.
Once the holiday rush has passed, the fun doesn’t end. Plans for 2025 include our ever-popular Trivia Night at the Armory, Gangster Bus Tours, a new exhibit called “X Marks the Spot” highlighting area history that is all around us, Fillebrown House tours, Town Hall Talks, guided walking tours and so much more.

The White Bear Lake Area Historical Society works to “connect our community to its past, fostering an understanding and appreciation for our history”. Since 1970 the WBLAHS has served the municipalities that touch the lake: Birchwood, Dellwood, Mahtomedi, White Bear Lake and White Bear Township, by gathering, preserving and sharing the stories of our collective past.
Whether you are able to join us for a presentation at the library, an event at the Armory, a tour at the Fillebrown House or one of our Town Hall Talks we hope to see you in 2025!
